20th Year Anniversary Celebration

Altech UEC and NAS Australia are celebrating their 20th year anniversary of close cooperation and trading success in Australia.

The two companies joined forces in 1998 by winning the Aurora digital Project to replace an aging fleet of BMAC receivers with new MPEG 1 digital set top boxes. The success of this rollout lead to Altech UEC being appointed as the technology provider for yet another Aurora platform upgrade with the two companies successfully deploying over two hundred and fifty thousand VAST set top boxes for access to remote and rural Australia TV services.

The strength of this close relationship bears testament to both Altech UEC and NAS’s commitment and longevity in the Australian market.

Altech UEC participated in the AfricaCom17 exhibition in Cape Town over the period 07 to 09 November 2017.  We had a prominent presence in the new Technology Arena of the CTICC and we exhibited a number of our current new STB technology products as well as our EduVoD solution for delivering electronic educational material to schools.

Our product and solutions demonstrations drew a number of high quality profile attendees from various organisations and from other Africa countries.  The team also met with old and new local and international partners to discuss future opportunities.

All and all, it was a successful event with good marketing value which served to place Altech UEC once again in the forefront of the minds of our customers and partners.

After a successful entry of the OVHD offering into the market, we have seen phenomenal uptake of the new operators bouquet, which provides free satellite television for a once-off fee of the purchase of a bespoke set-top box, and satellite dish installation if required.
